Faults:

Had to have a re-co transmission fitted to replace original.

New after market suspension & shockers.

New exhaust & muffler.

New fan belt.

General Comments:

A car that has its share of faults but as far as older cars go, you can't go past the EA2 Falcon. Even when things have gone wrong with the engine, transmission etc it has still been able to be driven to my mechanic (which is a good 30 km away). Very comfortable (even though the seats can do a number on the back after a good 500km drive). Very reliable and a lot of issues can be rectified cheaply with a trip to a local wrecker.

Faults:

The car has been reasonably reliable considering its age and mileage.

Replaced the in-tank fuel pump which just stopped working one day.

Replaced rear wiper motor as the old one had a cracked gear housing.

Replaced left lower ball joint; Age related maintenance.

Replaced front brake rotors as the passenger side one was badly warped when I bought the car. Apparently this is a common problem with these cars.

General Comments:

Very comfortable car to drive.

Handling is as expected of a car with a leaf sprung rear. Can become quite entertaining to drive on wet or slippery roads.

Steering is quite vague when pushing the car.

Not a lot of power, but has enough low down torque to tow a block of flats.

Despite lack of power, cruises quite well at reasonably high speeds.

Faults:

Just the general problems for a car of this age and being a 6 cylinder also. A bit heavy on the juice, but then again I am looking at upgrading to a 4WD, the lifestyle of a family style wagon isn't there for me, and since I drive myself around mostly, I figured to go for a lifestyle I love thus 4WD.

General Comments:

Nothing against Ford, but I love my Commodores, personal preference. Nice car with a front bench seat, if you can call it nice! Good stock car, looks bad with mods (hence I didn't waste my time). Not idea first car VERY powerful in the wet, almost lost the vehicle a number of times because of unpredicted motor wake!

Faults:

Replaced Tyres (normal)

Replaced Link Pin Bushes.

Drove alright, needed New Shocks (so I'm told)

EFI Engine Tune

Leads Replaced

Re-aim windscreen washers

Secured the under tray

Checked Rear Demister

Rear Washer (was not pumping)

General Comments:

This car is a pleasure to drive when you have all things working properly. Seats aren't the nicest, but wooden seats would be worse. Got a good buy on the vehicle and is great for the power I get out of it!

Faults:

Broken Timing Chain tensioner.

Worn muffler.

Worn bearing in diff.

Broken engine mounting (near side)

General Comments:

In quite good condition for its age, considering it cost Oz$1900. It drives from Canberra to Syd and back, from Canberra to Central Victoria and back at around 9.5L/100km (accurate measurement).

It cruises at 110 - 120 km/h effortlessly with a trailer.

The engine has good torque characteristics so there is not too much gear changing on the road.

Faults:

Oil pressure gauge broke, and left an oil trail about 400 metres. Only cost $10 to fix.

Needs new fuel pump due to swithching fuels over to and from gag/petrol.

Nothing apart from that.

General Comments:

The car is really comfortable to drive and pretty quick.

I've lowered it and put bigger wheels on. 2.5" exhaust also.

I would like it to go faster considering it's a manual, but I'm not sure what to do next.

Any ideas please help.
