1995 Holden Acclaim VS 3.8

Faults:

Owning this acclaim for almost four years now, I've only recently had to replace the power steering pump, due to leaks at approx 179000 kilometers. no other issues. for a family car, the V6 is pretty darn quick. Plenty of torque when you need it for overtaking and so forth. The only gripe about the interior is the passenger side airbag cover has come off revealing an ugly rusty looking metal plate underneath. The grey dashboard panel which sits flush with the dash (over the airbag) was starting to peel up at the corners when I purchased the vehicle, due to sunlight exposure I guess. I have cured this by purchasing the acclaim dashmat, and cutting out a shape from an old dashmat, and gluing this to the steel airbag panel. it now looks respectable.

A great car for a 30YO bachelor. I will be keeping it for a few years yet.

1995 Holden Acclaim VR 3.8 V6

Summary:

Sensational + exceptionally good looking done up

Faults:

Power steering pump leak

Standard head unit tape stopped working replaced with Panasonic head unit.

General Comments:

This VR v6 has been in the family for the past 10 years has never let us down. Have had it serviced about 6 years ago still impressed. very quick for its weight. The car is being driven by a p platter. Apparently getting thrashed every single day, but still manages to have no problems. It is very quick for a " family car". Being a family car doesn't handle like a skyline, but wasn't designed to do so. Extremely impressed with the vehicle and extremely happy.
