A great bargain of a car that I've always loved
Crank-angle sensor was replaced yesterday, and new spark-plugs put in.
It is an excellent car for the 3k that I paid for it.
After having the crank-angle sensor and spark-plugs replaced it goes like a dream.
Smooth ride, smooth drive, just great really. LOVE it.
Hope to have a Walkinshaw kit on it soon, as well as a racing filter, bigger exhaust and a powerchip.

A good looking and comfortable vehicle
I had to replace the tail shaft bearing at 230,000kms.
I had to replace all fuel injectors at 245,000kms.
I had to replace exhaust at 250,000 kms, it was rusted out and I replaced it with a 2 and a 1/2 sports system.
I had to replace the ignition barrel and door locks after it was nearly stolen.
I love doing up my VL, since new I have spent a bit of money on the old girl, but she looks good as she approaches her 13th birthday.
Things I have done to it are:
Front and rear suspension, and super-low springs.
Sports steering wheel.
Re-sprayed the body white.
Window tinting.
Cop car rims (chases) with chrome centre-caps and dress rims (of the old VB Commodores).
Sony CD player, 840 Watts turbo amplifier, 2x12inch sub-woofers, 4x 6x9 xplod speakers.

Good performance, but potential electrical nightmare
Number 1 injector replaced.
Faulty computer.
Fuel pressure regulator.
Crank angle sensor.
Starter motor.
The car was initially very quick and performed to expectations.
It reached 100 in around 8 seconds with 3 passengers.
It would hit 115 in 2nd gear.
My top speed was 196 and that was in 4th gear. I was racing my mate down the freeway in the middle of the day in traffic... and didn't get a chance to change to 5th and bring it past 200 due to the car infront of me traveling at 96 kms/hr slower!
It handles pretty well even at high speed as demonstrated while swerving between a couple of semi-trailers.
Braking is average at high speed. The car would benefit with larger discs and also discs in the back.
All this thrashing has taken its toll and the engine now requires some major work... lifters and the head.

This is obviously your own fault and I think that you should not forget that this is not a race standard car, if you were wishing to do this sort of thrashing to your car you should think of making it race compatible, in other words make the mechanics stronger to give it more torque.
Just being a sensible VN SS Group "A" Driver.
As Mr. Group "A" driver has stated, you should probably make the motor stronger before you thrash the crap out of it at speeds that to me don't really add up when you're in traffic mate. Go to the race track.
Question! How the hell did you pull 115km/h out of 2nd gear in a man box?! The best I can do is 100 +/-5 km/h!! And I've got an exhaust, new heads, extractors, advanced spark and timing!! I think that you're lying!!!
I've got a VL Berlina, it's an auto. It easily does 115 in second but I honestly don't see how it's possible that you did it in a manual. I'm also not sure that I believe you did 196km/h in it, seeing as the Tacos limit is 200km/h. You didn't mention it being anything other than standard.
