1994 Holden Statesman VR 3.8 V6

Summary:

Great comfortable family car

Faults:

Central locking had a broken wire through door grommet, transmission had started to delay when cold going into reverse, climate control air conditioning seemed particularly cold on auto.

General Comments:

I had this car for only 2 years before updating to a WH. The overall car was very good, comfortable and deceiving re rear leg room. Nice leather interior, not bad performance for a V6, reliable, very nice paintwork - looking back, one of the nicest cars I've had.

1994 Holden Statesman VR 5.0 V8

Summary:

Best car I've ever owned or driven by far!

Faults:

Kept stalling when I first bought it. (Ended up being a faulty module.)

The gearbox had a slipping clutch.

General Comments:

The car overall is a dream to drive. Not the quickest car, but it is a Statesman. It's designed for comfort. But the V8 does help it along it's way. The car also rides like a dream with a set of 18" rims and ultra low suspension.

The cabin is nice and roomy, and has been set off well with plenty of lights and embroidery.

The engine is really responsive, and has a great note under revs with an exhaust.

1994 Holden Statesman VR 5.0 V8

Summary:

Luxury + Power = Perfection

Faults:

Whole front end had to be pulled out, so that an oil leak could be fixed.

Numerous problems with the CD stacker.

Misfire when cold.

General Comments:

I recommend this car for anyone who is after the performance and luxury feel! My car really benefited from an FE2 suspension package and a sports exhaust.

The spacious cabin is a winner, Holden should be congratulated on it. The VR Statesman is also very attractive and looks good with front skirts and rear skirts.
