1997 Honda Integra GSI 1.8 petrol

Summary:

I'm very happy with it

Faults:

Replaced faulty thermostat at 123000 km.

Metal channel around sun roof glass has rusted badly. It looks unsightly (bumps in the rubber that covers it), but has no effect on the performance or function of the sunroof.

The electric aerial has stopped extending /retracting at 132000 km, but the radio still works.

General Comments:

Outstandingly reliable, but it has always been regularly serviced at a Honda dealer.

Interior is ordinary, but has worn well.

Comfort is OK, but it is good to get out of the car after a couple of hours.

Performance is more than adequate for my needs.

Fuel consumption is fairly high - a result, I suspect, of mostly around town driving and an automatic gearbox.

Lift back design and rear seat backs that fold forward are very useful for carrying bulky loads (but a high lip at the back to lift loads over).

1997 Honda Integra GSI 1.8

Summary:

It's a great looking, affordable car, that packs plenty of punch

Faults:

Master and Slave cylinders for the clutch needed replacing at 125,000, Slight wear on the interior, Australian sun has had a slight affect on the dash.

General Comments:

This car has been an absolute joy since I bought it almost a year ago. After having tested the Celica of the same year as well as the Ford Probe and the Mazda MX-6,I'm glad that I chose the Integra.

The handling on the car is phenomenal even in the wet, although the tyres play an integral role in that.

Haven't done any mods to the car except for the audio system, which has now been streamlined with Alpine Headunit, Speakers and Amp, the factory sound system was less than adequate.

Honda factory brakes have been good, even with all the stress I have put them through.

Compared to the competitors, the back seats have more room, although head height seems to be cramped, and it truly is an impractical car if considering transporting passengers regularly.

The 107Kw produced by the 1.8Lt engines does well off the lights and overtaking on the high ways. When you reach 5000Rpm, a little smile comes to your face as you feel a jolt of power.
