2005 HSV Maloo R8 Z Series 6.0L LS2 V8
Summary:
I love this car more than my family!!!
Faults:
Driver's side power window fault.
General Comments:
I love this car.
OK, it does not have the carrying capacity of other utes, but it can carry my jet ski.
It has tons of power below in the middle and above. The LS2 is an absolute delight - smooth and very powerful, and has gobs of torque.
The build quality is good apart from the faulty electric window, which was fixed by the dealer.
It looks awesome, sounds awesome, what the hell it is awesome.
Fuel economy, well if I was worried about that, I would have bought a Ford Ka or a Hyundai Getz *chokes*.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

So you'd rather spend thousands of dollars on upgrading your sports car than pay for your kids' college tuition? I hope you care for your family at lease a little bit.

WTF?
I wrote this review I am a single bloke that has no kids.
I can spend my money the way I see fit go and crawl under a bloody rock.

Yer, also in australia parents don't pay for "college"/uni, so buy a maloo.

I don't agree with your comments about the power of the engine making the ute slide around. My VU SS has 350kw at the fly and 275 at the rear bags. It certainly doesn't slide around even in the wet. As for fuel economy, on a recent trip from Perth to Esperance, we achieved 8.87lt/100km.
I've tested the new VE Maloo and while it is nice it doesn't have that shove in the back that my SS gives me. No the power doesn't overwhelm the chassis.

My father owns this ute and can still afford to end me to a $2200-a-term private school.
AND HE IS A CHIPPIE
Do the maths.
LS2 engine in it is sweeeeet.
Purrs like a cat and goes like a beast.

The Maloo r8 is a great car, Engine is too powerful for chassis and slides out as like a normal ute would with all that power, Great ls2 and the best looking ute around!!!
