Faults:

No major faults to date, and fingers crossed there won't be with a nearly new car.

Passenger window doesn't self close as the sensor winds the window back down again. Booked into the dealer to adjust the sensor.

General Comments:

Land Rover and reliability are two words that don't go together... but, and whilst it's still early days, I’m prepared to say a big BUT with the series 2 Freelander’s. I did more research on this car compared to any of the others before purchasing, to validate I wasn't being suckered into the hype.

This car really impressed me when I took it for a test drive, and each day after purchasing I'm still impressed. The plush interior seems to be better screwed together than the Subaru Forester XT I compared against. The electronic wizardry makes the vehicle as capable as my Pajero NM (on the tracks I travel) and has less rattles. And again with a flick of the terrain response, you have a sporty wagon for the bitumen drive home.

This is not a true 4wd, and kudos really has got to go to Land Rover for showing the way that you don’t need one. Like most real 4wd drivers, you soon face up to the fact, there are less and less places to go ‘4wd Driving’ and the 90% of the time you spend on the bitumen just costs you a lot of money. So why not have the best of both real worlds? Have car like comfort with the capability to go to remote areas? Well done Freelander 2.
