1993 Mazda Cronos 2.0 V6
Summary:
A little thirsty if you drive it hard, but overall comfortable, reliable and simple
Faults:
The automatic transmission died on me - couldn't move at all, it was stuck in my driveway. Ignored it in the driveway as I borrowed a car. Came back to it a few weeks later and it drove under its own power, but it was very limited. Drove straight to the workshop, they topped the transmission off with oil, and I was driving around problem free in 10 minutes!
General Comments:
Very nice car to drive, but a little sketchy in the wet, because it is a big car and also light.
I was 18-19 when I had it, and I had a lead foot, so it was a little thirsty. I was able to use 30L of gas in 150km when I was thrashing it. When I wasn't, that would get me 370km or so.
The speed was great, it was responsive and cruised well. The steering was light and responsive, and I very much enjoyed just cruising in it.
Also the front seat folds down well, and the back seats are comfortable to lay on, even with two people, if you know what I mean.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
