Faults:

The heater core split which coursed water leakage inside the car, was not expensive to fix.

I had to replace the gear-box after 230,000 km's, due to drivers side drive shaft bearing collapsing.

General Comments:

One of the best cars of its era.

Very easy on petrol, the 1.6 litre has got a bit of get up and go even throw it's only about 65 kw, but it's also only 950 kg.

Very comfortable car to drive, handles very well around corners, and is a pleasure on the freeway.

Looked after and regularly serviced this car will not let you down.

Faults:

The catalytic converter was blocked.

Engine seals were damaged causing a smoky motor.

Turbo bearings were damaged.

Rusting badly along door sills.

Clutch was almost completely useless.

General Comments:

The interior was extremely well appointed, with air conditioning, turbo embossed seats, turbo badging and a well laid out center console.

It tended to suffer in the steering owing to it wasn't power assisted, and the car itself was very heavy.

The cabin was extremely roomy, and was comfortable.

Visibility out the windows was excellent, with both passengers and the driver having excellent views.

The front turbo scoop was impressive, but it did tend to hamper visibility a little bit, but apart from that it earned great looks.

Faults:

Common problems with rust around the tail lights.

Boot seat rust.

That's it.

General Comments:

For a 1.6 non turbo car, it's very fast, because it has a power mode. Very powerful, do not underestimate it. It's easy to blow off auto Commodores and Falcons. I thrash it, and it gives me no trouble because it loves me and I love it. I estimate the motor to be about 60 - 80 kw, and it's got some real go for a car with 270000km+ on it.

It's got a nice sized boot, easily accommodating my 4 12 inch subs in a huge box.

I can't wait till it blows up, because there is an aftermarket import motor, which is the 2.0 litre dash motor, and if you thought that the 1.8 turbo boys were fast, then get a load of this, 150 kw stock. No crap. I'd say that my Cordia will be a V8 killer when it gets one.

They're brilliant cars. A little trouble for parts, unless you're in a good sized city. They're a great 80's stylish retro pocket rocket, considering that I picked up mine for $800 Aus.
