1980 Mitsubishi Galant GL 1.6
Summary:
Old Reliable
Faults:
Multicolored due to rust and patch-up work.
Radiator.
Electrical.
General Comments:
This was a family pet project that never really got off the ground.
Original colour was gold, but some doors of a bronze model replaced the deeply gutted and rusted original doors.
It was always the plan to repaint it red, but in the end it was cheaper to keep it one colour.
Used this car as a spare when my Chariot would break down. Often asked my parents if I could buy it from them.
I regret the day it got sold to someone else. I had nick named it as 'old-reliable', and it sure was.
It was a base model, NZ-New and build in the NZ based factory. The 1600cc engine was economic and it would've been a good handler if it had power steering, unfortunately it wasn't to be.
This is definitely one car I miss.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
