2004 Mitsubishi Magna AWD 3.5 V6
Summary:
Good value, handling, performance, comfort make this an easy car to live with - especially in AWD
Faults:
Front brake rotors warped and needed replacing at 55,000 k.
Otherwise this has been a reliable car.
General Comments:
A very honest reliable family car - not huge, but not small - that packs a punch if you stomp your right foot!
The cabin is a pleasant place to be with standard climate control air conditioning, CD player, power windows etc.
The rear air con vents for back seat passengers is a good feature too.
This car handles very well, and is more than capable on twisty roads - it's no sports car, but an admirable compromise between budget family car and performance sports sedan.
The safety features of ABS, ALL WHEEL DRIVE, front and side air bags and seat belt pre tensioners, coupled with ride, handling, comfort and price make this worth consideration if you're looking for a medium sized, well appointed budget family car.
One thing to note, that if you buy a Magna, don't expect great resale $$. Put simply, this is not due to quality, but when Mitsubishi couldn't sell them all straight away when new, they discounted them BIG TIME, and this has affected values ever since.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I have a 2005 ES Diamante (Aussie Magna). Had it from new, now has 44000k's on it. These are powerful and a pleasure to drive. Very reliable as long as they are maintained according to Mitzi specs.
Had 1 speaker replaced and 1 minor engine oil leak fixed under warranty (they can sometimes leak out of camseals like my old V3000)
This is my 3rd Diamante, and I am buying a 380 GT as my next car.
Resale also poor in N.Z. but great value.
