1992 Mitsubishi Verada Ei 3.0 petrol
Summary:
A good car in it's day, but it's tiring quickly
Faults:
The left trans axle broke during a shift. This consequently warped the left wheel hub, which has been replaced twice, and was quite expensive.
The radiator burst, and this also proved to be very costly, even to have it reconditioned.
The engine consumes a lot of oil, and the car is very smoky.
The transmission is hesitant, for example it will take several seconds to decide what gear to use. This is also accompanied by loud thumps from the transmission.
The thermostat was broken, resulting in a permanently changed transmission shift pattern.
The valve guides are warped, resulting in smoke and loss of power. Extremely expensive to remedy.
General Comments:
This car is quite quick at speed, although it is quite sluggish from a standing start.
Overtaking is a long drawn out process.
The transmission feels strong, but is quite hesitant and will take it's time choosing gears.
The panels are showing their age, with scratches and dents.
The brakes are extremely strong, the car will stop very quickly.
Adding a K&N filter has smoothed acceleration considerably.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Maybe if you looked after it scratches and dents would be avoided. Don't put this kind of comment down against the car when it's the owners fault.
