2005 Subaru Legacy 3.0R 3L H6

Summary:

Excellent handling

Faults:

I bought this car about 3 months ago and haven't had any issues with it so far.

General Comments:

Good build - Mine has leather, but the quality of leather is not that great.

Very thirsty around town. I did a long run to the ski fields and even though I was thrashing it in places I managed to get 600Ks out of a full tank.

Like the one button seat fold down option.

Stereo is integrated so will have issues replacing it. Factory one does not sound great. You can buy one of these cars with the Macintosh Premium sound if you can afford it.

You are getting VERY good mileage for your car... mine gets avg. 7 km/l.

I have this car for 5 years now, but I have this strange issue, sometimes it launches as you are racing... it changes the gear at 7000 rpm or it won't change gear (like miss interpreting your gas pedal position). I went to the dealer but they can't find it or won't fix it.

I like to know if anyone has come with such problem...

Around town around 8-9 km/l but open road over 12 km/l easy.

Not sure that spinning the motor at 7000 RPM is something you should do often!! Watch out for flying parts!!

2005 Subaru Legacy 3.0 LTD spec.B 3.0 petrol

Summary:

Excellent

Faults:

Nil.

General Comments:

Excellent quality and build. Superb ride and handling. Running costs high as maintenance intervals are short (i.e. 5,000km first service then 10,000km after) and 3.0 engine thirsty. Cabin spec fantastic with the best audio system (McIntosh) I've heard in any car.

I think you need to spend more than 250 km behind the wheel before writing a review.

The 5000 km service is free (Check for coupon in your service booklet) except for parts/fluids, so if you provide the oil of your choice the grand total of your service will be the cost of oil filter & drain plug, which is probably less the a couple of pints from your local.

10K service intervals are nothing unusual, 15K is too long in my opinion.
