2007 Toyota Aurion Presara 3.5 litre V6

Faults:

Sunroof leaks every time the weather rains, or sometimes when I wash the car. Only had the car since February this year; had the sunroof issue fixed in May. Turned out to be drainage points blocked, but now in September the problem has returned; will be taking to get it repaired again next week.

No other faults with the vehicle so far.

General Comments:

Great car to drive, build quality is extremely good, very comfortable car with a huge list of features.

Sat nav, blue tooth, 6 disc CD player, full leather interior, electric seats and auto dim rear vision mirror, just to name a few!

The only issue is the fact it is a front wheel drive with a 200kw V6... so you do get torque steer, but you get used to that. Aside that, it is very fast, and overtaking requires next to no effort.

2011 Toyota Aurion Touring petrol

Summary:

Disappointing

Faults:

The radiator has always leaked, and now the core is rusting.

The vinyl on the dashboard is lifting, and the center console keeps moving out as I drive.

Rough idling at times.

The finish of the car is poor.

General Comments:

The car feels cheap and nasty in the interior.

The rubber fittings are sloppy.

There is some body roll in the car when cornering, even at low speed.

Leaking rusty radiator at only a year old? Disappointing indeed.

2006 Toyota Aurion AT-X GSV40R 3.5 petrol

Summary:

A great buy!

Faults:

Nothing yet.

I suppose the wheels were a bit out of balance when I bought it... that's about it!

Hard plastic pin stripe on driver's door is starting to come off (at the door hinge side).

General Comments:

Driving this car often makes me want to check the accuracy of the speedometer - it feels a lot slower than the speed showing on the dial! 100Km's an hour on the highway feels like about 70Km/hr (and at that speed the tacho reads less than 2000 R.P.M.!).

Good power, acceleration. Fuel economy is amazing! Better than my Camry Vienta Ultima - and that had a reconditioned motor, which was only a 3 litre/145kW beastie...

I don't know what people are talking about when they say the Aurion's sound system is terrible... I find it's highly acceptable. It's certainly comparable to my old system - and that was an Alpine CD player running through high power Pioneer speakers!

I found reversing this car (eg; in a tight park space) can be a bit daunting. I'm glad now I didn't get a spoiler on my Aurion. The rear view mirrors on the doors have that "objects may appear further away then they are" effect, will be a problem for some, but I got used to it eventually.

The foot-operated park brake can be a nuisance, I got used to this as well.

My car is the 2006 model, the year these came out. I say this because my early Aurion doesn't seem to have come with traction control, as evidenced by the black marks left at a dodgy parking lot near me. I had trouble seeing to my right, a car came quickly and I gave the gas pedal a boot - the front wheels (with new tyres) spun crazily. Tut tut...

The light for the boot is quite pathetic.

Hi, I am the original poster of the above review, just using the comments section as a diary, if I may...

I found out the problem of the 'bouncy ride at slow speeds' of my Aurion, it's not so much the wheels are knocked out of balance, but the rims themselves are buckled out of shape! (I hope that's not a harbinger of disaster...I did get this car remarkably cheap!).

I find this car's a bit of a dog to drive in the wet, let's face it, there's 200 killer wasps under the hood, a rainy day, a wet road, a need to pull out in thick traffic... and when you do, boy, those front wheels just spin like crazy!

And to make matters worse - this car always feels like it's got a flat spot - just above idle revs - when I accelerate. It's a pain in the arse... one has to be so tentative with that Go pedal... especially in the wet! And it's got new tyres on the front as well. Probably cheapies, put on by a scroogey owner (not me!).
