1994 Toyota Corolla RV 1.8 petrol

Summary:

Great 1st car, goes hard

Faults:

Air con tube disconnected. Had to have it re-gassed.

Rear hatch doesn't open unless the tab is pulled the same time you open the boot. Getting into the back is a two person job.

Sometimes when I lock the car, it continues to lock over and over. I can stop this by locking the passenger side door from the inside, but this hardly happens.

General Comments:

Pretty much best P plater car out!

It's powerful, and owns all my mate's cars.

It has GREAT suspension and top braking (four wheel disks). It is unbreakable.

I am a massive rev head, and getting it sideways is easy.

I've put on a sports pipe, which makes it sound as hard as it goes.

I would keep this car forever if it was rear wheel drive.

With some small mods, such as rims or lower springs, it looks mean and no longer like a grandma's car.

It never gets hot. I would race my old Corolla (same model) on a race track for 4 hours straight, and it never moved from halfway. The old car didn't fail, the driver did (LOL).

Great on fuel. It gets 400km a tank for me. But if driven carefully, it could get 500km.

The seats are a tad high for my liking, but can be adjusted endlessly. It has power windows in the front. Sorta seems funny not to power the rear ones too.

The backseats aren't the best for big friends, and the rear seatbelts are always jerky.

Great storage. I go camping in mine, I remove the rear seat and fold down the back, and it is (relatively) flat. Fits a double mattress like it was built to.

Love the car.

1994 Toyota Corolla Seca Ultima Liftback 1.8 EFI

Summary:

Excellent car that is too good to part with

Faults:

Clutch worn and rear brake discs needed replacement when purchased, which I did straight away.

Paint on the roof is starting to fade.

General Comments:

Built 02/1994 and has full electrics as is the Ultima model. Bought the car after someone rear ended my Mazda. This car has been serviced and cared for by the previous owner and now by me. It is totally reliable and has never missed a beat during the 55,000 odd kilometers I have driven in it. It is very fuel efficient and cruises effortlessly, the air conditioner works great too. This is the 2nd Corolla I've owned and would own another without question. I was thinking of buying a new car again but this car is too good to let go.

1994 Toyota Corolla GL 1.6i petrol (4A-F)

Summary:

Hassle free motoring

Faults:

The rear rubber bushes had worn out at around 140000 km. This occurs on all Corollas of this model and at the end of day is part of normal wear and tear. Anyway I replaced the bushes with after-market Urethane bushes for NZ$200.00.

General Comments:

Fun to drive, awesome 5 speed gear box, performance comparable to a 2.0L sports auto sedan.

Although the suspension is a bit softer than my previous GT Corolla, I can say from experience that it handles just as well.

The car is quiet, cheap on gas and most importantly trouble free!!
