2009 Volkswagen Passat CC 3.6L V6
Summary:
Stylish, comfortable and high performance
Faults:
This is essentially still a new car, but noticed that no one has reviewed the Passat CC yet.
So far in some 5 months of ownership, I have had no issues (though will be sure to comment in the future if any issues do arise).
Despite complaints about older VWs, my car is even rattle and squeak free! But again, it is a new car.
General Comments:
The Passat CC is a seriously well styled car. Think Mercedes Benz CLS or Audi A5 rather than traditional Passat. It is what attracted me to the car in the first place, and away from similarly priced competitors.
Performance is fantastic. The 3.6L motor is the same as in the VW R36 Passat and accelerates the car from 0-100 in 5.6 seconds. The DSG transmission is fantastic (note to forum owner: you should edit transmission choices to include DSG). DSG gives you the advantages of a manual transmission and the convenience of an auto. It is far better than a mere semi automatic!
It is a very comfortable car, mine has nappa leather and aluminium trim. Very quiet though with a nice engine note when pressed.
Plenty of gadgets available including lane assist, adaptive cruise control and self park as options. Probably don't need any of them, but nice to have nevertheless.
Adaptive chassis control came as standard and means that you can change chassis settings from comfort (nice ride) to sports mode (firming up dampers/wheel).
The RNS510 media centre is one of the best on the market. Can combine GPS, iPod adapter and 30gb Hard Drive. The upgrade 600w Dynaudio package (that I have) is absolutely amazing.
This is by far the best car I have owned so far.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
