2012 Chevrolet Celta LS 1.0 flex (any blend of gas / ethanol)

Summary:

Reliable, nice looking, super compact with an above average engine for its category

Faults:

Nothing (and where I live the roads are not paved AND I beat the hell out of this guy!).

General Comments:

Considering the Brazilian market, it is an awesome entry level car.

Only personal complaints: The suspension could be a little better and the tires are too small so the car doesn't adhere to the track as it should when it is raining.

It is said that this is not a very safe car (LA NCAP 1), but so aren't most entry level cars here.

The updated 1.0 VHC-E (Very High Compression - Economy/Ecologic/Enhanced, as Chevrolet states) flex fuel engine has an awesome performance for its category - fast responses, high mileage, I cannot stress enough how responsive this engine is.

A VERY reliable car with cheap maintenance and spare pieces. It literally never breaks unless you don't do the preventive maintenance or you collide with something.

The interior is pretty small, but this is a super compact car. Finishing materials are cheap, look cheap and feel cheap. But the shape of things is interesting. And you just have to enter a "New Fiat Uno" to feel like the Celta is an awesome car from the future.

The Chevrolet Celta is unfortunately not manufactured anymore, and could easily be updated to be a safer car. It has a nice design, much nicer than the current GM line of cars around here. It LOOKS LIKE A CAR instead of the bad joke current cars are like.

For its price tag and considering the running cost, there's nothing you could buy that beats this little guy. The combination of low weight + decent 1.0 engine makes me able to drive side by side with 1.8 or even 2.0 cars from the 90s.

2003 Chevrolet Celta VHC Hatch 4 door 1.0 VHC petrol

Summary:

Great first car!

Faults:

I bought this car in January, don't you think it's too early to have a problem?

General Comments:

For a first car it's great!

It has to taught me how to drive good.

The Celta is a very good economical car.

The fuel consumption, is about 12 Km/L in the city and 15 Km/L on the highway.

The 1.0 VHC engine it's the most powerful 1.0 8 valve engine of the class.

The handling is good at dry track, but on wet tracks the car has a certain tendency to slide, because the tires are too thin.

My only complaint with this car is the back seat: it's too small to accommodate two adults.

The boot size is average, but for a single guy like me the size is very good.
