2007 Renault Twingo Ü 1.2 16v
Summary:
A cheap and reliable car: great first car. Not a family car
Faults:
Absolutely nothing, just regular maintenance: brake fluid change, oil change, tires, and a bit of gas.
On the downside, I'd just remark about the lack of power steering, but you know that before you buy it, so that's not something that has gone wrong, rather something I wish would be different.
Close to no trunk, it resigns the trunk for passenger space, but that's logical since it's a petite city car.
Expensive parts: engine supports cost me around USD 120, and service was extra USD 50.
The Colombian version of the Twingo has two only options: 1 airbag (driver side), which was mine, and 2 airbags, so safety is on the poor side, since there is no ABS, no side airbags, no EBD. But once again, you are aware of that since you buy it, and actually you get what you pay for.
General Comments:
I really loved this car, everything worked great.
Mine had very few accessories, only had AC, not power windows, not electric mirrors, nothing. Just installed power locks and drove it everywhere.
I loved this car, loved how cheap it was to run, really gas saver (50 km/gl - 8,6 lt/100 km), really comfortable for passengers, although the seat tend to get uncomfortable for long trips.
A bit expensive on parts and accessories, so the wear maintenance was a bit expensive, but never needed much stuff, just battery, engine supports, and that's about it.
Now, it ran smooth, the only time I got stranded was when the battery died the day before my marriage, but it's a very reliable car, cheap on gas, fun to drive, fits in every little space, and takes a bit of dirt with dignity.
Loved the car.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
