1987 Audi Coupe GT 1.8liter

Summary:

A super-reliable super-banger

Faults:

Clutch burned out at 107000km, probably due to previous owner's driving habits.

Driver's side seat will no longer flip forward.

General Comments:

It's a shame these are as rare as they are, they are great cars. This one is sort of a striped out version, but mechanically, it is easy to repair and nothing to be afraid of.

As far as performance, it does amazing things on a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder engine. It can play on the Autobahn at 180kmph (108 mph) without having to exceed 4000rpm.

Definitely a best buy, excellent economy, I can get about 600km (475mi) out of a tank of regular. Also, GTs laugh at whether; snow, rain, ice, they don't care (and the body seems to be refusing to rust)

1984 Audi Coupe 5E 2.2 injection

Summary:

A classic

Faults:

Rust at doors and fenders was a major problem.

Oil gauge didn't worked properly.

Generator light flashed frequently when driving through heavy rain.

General Comments:

I have always loved the appearance of the first Coupés.

For a car of this size, it offered a lot of space inside.

Being over 15 years old, the engine was still running smooth.
