1969 Opel GT
Summary:
Very stylish and extremely unreliable
Faults:
First off, I had electrical problems. Radio, fan motor etc.
The driver side recliner lever did not work correctly.
One day I honked the horn and it stuck on, causing much embarrassment until I could get it disconnected.
The outside rear view mirror fell off.
This car was very prone to rust.
With all that said, I received lots of comments and it was a cute little bugger. The cutest car I ever hated.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I own a 1973 Opel GT that was a garaged car, well taken care of prior to my purchase of it.
The car, even though near 40 years old now is amazingly reliable and dependable. I get near 30 MPG and the car accelerates just fine with today's cars and traffic in the typical US suburbs.
What is truly amazing is that this car gets more thumbs up and positive comments than my 1995 Viper.
If you can find a nice one buy it, if you can find one.

I had a 1971, which I bought new, and had very few problems with it. I took it over to England in 1973, and they all loved it over there. They REALLY cut the performance of it from 1970 to 1971, and I was really upset about that, because my test drive was in a 1970 model. Had a bunch of fun with it. It's a mini Vette!
