1984 Peugeot 505 GTi 2.2 petrol
Summary:
Comfortable driving
Faults:
Radiator leak.
Ignition wires.
Injection - ECU breakdown.
General Comments:
It's a VERY comfortable and usually reliable car, BUT if something breaks down, some pieces are a bit hard to find (and PEUGEOT garages are not very amused if you arrive with a 505...)
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I love my 1984 Peugeot, but I am having some problems with radiator, and oil leaks. And my brakes seem to be messed up.
If you could e mail me some guidance, I would gladly appreciate it.

I also have a 1984 505 station wagon turbo diesel. The brakes sometimes get really hard to press down, and no stopping feedback. I really have to push to get the car to stop. If I turn my 505 off for a little bit and restart it the brakes seem fine again.
What is causing this weirdness? How do I fix it, or check it?

Check for a vacuum leak to the power brake booster.

I think your page is great. I have just bought a 1981 505 diesel Peugeot. I also got an 1983 505 Peugeot for parts. I was told they enter changed. I have not been able to find any info about them. I sure could use a repair manual. Could some one help me.. Where do I go. Thanks, croemer@cport.com
