Faults:

Audio system failed. I replaced it with a Panasonic DVD SYSTEM.

Central door lock.

Battery problems. It was replaced with a new one.

General Comments:

It is a very good car at a very good price. The design is quite strange however it is a beauty. The battery was too dry and the car could not start any time. I love the car and I think I will buy another one When the next generation will appear on market.Solid, reliable, economical, Low costs. Buy one you'll have no regrets.

Renault magane 2005 - is it a good car?

Sure it is a good car, but for fun look else where.

2001 Renault Megane Standard 1.8i 16v 120 bhp Automatic

Summary:

This car is very unreliable and I wish I hadn't sold my Audi A3

Faults:

The starter went bad at around 50000 kilometres and car had to be towed.

Tires have wore out quickly in the period of time I've had it.

Windshield Wiper blades wear out quickly.

The car has had to be towed in several to where the dealer could'nt explain. This has been lots of trouble because this usually happens when I'm going to work. It seems like I have spent more time in rental cars than this car.

General Comments:

All of the occurrences of the car not starting happened in the morning at work. I believe I have spent more time in rental cars than in this one. The Audi A3 I had before I had this car was much better quality.

Renault brought out this model with KNOWN problems with the fuel injection system.

The senior support engineer of the importer in The Netherlands confirmed this.. but asked not to be quoted officially.

Renault changed the car after it quit running so many times and they couldn´t repair it.. and the new one started the SAME problems after a few months...

Renault France just said `keep cleaning the injection system` and gave us some special stuff to add to the fuel...

UNBELIEVABLE.. just bringing something onto the market that they KNEW was rubbish!!!

NEVER NEVER another Renault!!!

2005 Renault Megane pack 1.5 dci 100ps

Summary:

The Best Car In the Class

Faults:

Audio system failed just the next day. However I mounted a HARMAN KARDON wich is better.

Central door lock. due to card malfunction.

General Comments:

This car is very good for this money. Better than a golf5 or ford focus.Reliable, economical, cheap, are the arguments that made me buy it. It is true.

2003 Renault Megane RXT 1.6 petrol

Summary:

Great balance between performance and economy

Faults:

Battery replaced after 6 months.

One rear lamp burned.

General Comments:

The good things:

The engine is very quiet and smooth. In calm driving I never exceed 2500 rpm, and the auto-transmission loves to keep in high gear (sometimes it's a bit annoying).

The ride is very comfortable.

Lots of gadgets, great on board computer.

Average fuel consumption is good (8.5 liters for 100 km.).

The bad things:

The plastics on the dashboard began to squeak after a minor side accident I had.

The automatic gear-box is perfect if you are a formula 1 racer or a pregnant woman. For anything between it's a disaster.
