1999 Subaru Impreza GT AWD 2.0 turbo

Summary:

Simply the BEST!

Faults:

Coil broke at 25,000km.

Headlight motor stopped responding.

General Comments:

The Scooby (Scooby Doo Subaru) will give you the best true & pure sports car bargain, no other car will provide you with such excitement for the same price!

Israeli service is poor though... their knowledge of the car is limited, took them 2 months to find out why my car started crawling after being a jet :-) And it was only a coil problem.

The Scooby is not too comfortable, but who cares actually.. it's a rally car!

One last thing, in Israel the Scooby is expensive to keep:

Fuel - the Scooby is hungry.

Tires - the Scooby burns tires very fast cause of its AWD system.

Parts - dealer's prices just go up :-( You really have to take that into consideration!

Personally I wouldn't change the Scooby for any other car! If you live in Europe grab it! I know for a fact that the prices are cheaper and service is fine.

1994 Subaru Impreza GL 1.6 petrol

Summary:

Not good enough for its price

Faults:

A/C makes a banging sound every once in a while when turned on.

Power steering makes ringing sounds when it is cold.

Wind coming in from the front doors' side-mirrors areas at about 100 km/h+.

General Comments:

A very weak car for i's engine, all Japanese 1.6 liter cars are faster, it does 0-100 in twenty years and has a top speed of only 160 km/h!

On the other hand, it's mechanically reliable, smart in overall design, drives very comfortably and the engine will never drown.

If you buy a Subaru, make it a 1.8 liter at least! This one's too weak.

I am the owner of a Subaru Impreza 1.6 liters 1995.

I am trying for years now to get some spare-parts for my car. If it was a 1.8 liters I could have gotten them a long time ago. Can somebody help me with an address in Japan or the U.S.A. where I can order my parts?
