1999 Suzuki Baleno GLX 1.6

Summary:

A good little reliable car for a small family

Faults:

Right rear view mirror needed replacing

Handles on driver and passenger sides needed replacing

Drivers side window gets stuck.

General Comments:

This car has served us well over the past six years. We've never spent a day in the garage, and never had any kind of roadside breakdown. As you can see, we've put a lot of mileage on this car, and it still seems to be going strong. It goes for regular tune-ups every 10,000 km and the cost is about NIS 400 (a bit less that $100).

The interior has handled the wear and tear of small children fairly well, and the instrument panels and a/c are fine.

My hubby is the cars main driver, and he is not kind to the car at all - he's a pro at breaking stuff. I've seen other Balenos that look like new, so I'm not actually blaming Suzuki.

We are soon to be a family of 5, and the car is just not comfortable or powerful as we'd like - we turn off the a/c when we are going up into the mountains - but it's been so reliable, we hate to see it go. If Suzuki made something a little bit bigger with a 2000 engine - we'd seriously consider buying it.

What body kit have you got on your Baleno?

1998 Suzuki Baleno

Summary:

Don't buy it unless you have to

Faults:

The seats make squeaking sounds.

The horn stopped working.

The driver window make noises when you open or close the window.

General Comments:

It's a very basic car that's for sure. Don't expect anything excited from her and I mean anything. Performance is like a poker game in this car. Sometimes she accelerates like a sport car next time she moving like an old mini. Its really annoying cause you cann't guess what will append in the next pass.

Reliability is fine, but not great as my previous Mazda.
