2005 Tata Safari DICOR 3.0 TDI

Summary:

BMW move because TATA is coming!!!

Faults:

Steering made a funny noise, but was arranged by the Tata dealer under guarantee.

General Comments:

I previously drove the TATA Safari 1998 model. I just upgraded to the new Safari DICOR, which is available in Italy. It's an impressive 4X4, will never change to another company.

The improvements never stop over previous models. Engine from 2.0TD to 3.0 common rail turbo diesel, and it's very smooth and quiet.

Reverse camera in the mirror, dual air conditioning, leather seats, plastics are very good quality. I drive a Mercedes as taxi driver and the interior quality is almost the same.

So far I had it for a month and half, and have had no trouble.

Anyone who wants to buy a Safari, wait until this model comes out in your country.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

You actually found the Safari quiet? Good it is, quiet it isn't. I have a VXi version I bought this August, and I have to say it is VERY good, perfect for Indian conditions. The ride is the best you can have for any vehicle for this price point, and the seating comfort is top notch. The DVD and rear view camera helps too. And I just love to sink in that black leather, on those huge comfy seats. I have a 2WD, which is very good too. This engine is by no means modern, and the roots can be found in the ancient 3.0 L engine found on the Tata 407 light truck.
