2007 Daihatsu Sirion Sport SE 1.3

Summary:

Not bad for a daily driver, but have to take care a lot, and always service at your dealer

Faults:

The steering rack was changed 3 times due to a manufacture defect to a newer and modified version.

Calipers rattle a lot and had to be changed, and also the shocks.

General Comments:

In Malta, these cars are bought for 16000 euros, which means expensive. My sport series had all the frills with full kit and also automatic.

Steering is good, acceleration also, but fuel economy not so great. Also, the inside cabin scratches easily because of cheap plastics. Repairs are expensive.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

2008 Daihatsu Sirion SX 1.3 petrol

Summary:

The most value for money car ever made

Faults:

None, it's only one year old, and knowing Daihatsu it will probably last forever.

General Comments:

Very good, very reliable vehicle.

Parking is extremely easy, the engine is built to last and so are all the controls, only some of the plastics are a bit low quality, but hey it's a 12000 euro car.

Mine is the 1.3 SE model with the full body kit, and in pearl white with an automatic gearbox.

Fuel consumption is about 35mpg, which is OK. when I switch on the air conditioning it goes down to 25mpg, but overall I like it and look forward to buying another Daihatsu when and if this one ever dies.
