2001 Alfa Romeo 156 SW 1.9 JTD
Summary:
A super driving machine
Faults:
Since the very beginning of this driving machine, bulbs burned through all the time.
After a year or so the well-known beeps and trembles occurred more and more.
There were no Alfa-related problems as electrical/electronic disease or something like that.
The only strange problems that occurred where disabled chair cushions and side walls, that has to be repaired for 2 times already.
As I already wrote it is a super driving machine with very little fuel (Diesel) consumption and (till now with 155000 km) still fast and reliable.
General Comments:
If this car wasn't so expensive in lease I would drive e new version as my new car.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

The poor turning circle is nothing to do with the gearbox as all recent Alfa's suffer from this. It is caused by a combination of the quick rack power steering and the front suspension geometry. Although the long wheelbase also has an effect. Other than that glad you enjoyed the car, I had one the same and loved it although I sold it to buy a 6 speed 3 litre GTV which was better still.
