1991 Nissan 100NX GTi 2.0

Summary:

It is a fast reliable car crossed with a cabrio

Faults:

The windows are noisy while half up.

When the targa roof is removed it's very noisy on the highway.

General Comments:

For a 1991 this car had all the new electrical things in it, mirrors, dimmer, headlight angle adjustable, electrical windows and central door-locking.

When you drive with your roof removed, you'll forget all the things that have gone wrong with this car!

1991 Nissan 100NX 1.6

Summary:

Reliable car that has a unique design!

Faults:

Nothing really went wrong with this car.

It has a good service history. Maintenance is done every 10.000 kilometers (tires, oil, brakes etc.).

The only weak point is the recycle lever that is not functioning.

General Comments:

Good value for money. It is reliable and the T-bar roof is great in the summer!

Please note that if you drive 'open' on the highway it is very noisy!

By the way: the car looks faster than it actually is.

If you want performance go for the 2.0 version.

1992 Nissan 100NX SLX+ 1.6 petrol

Summary:

Still a great car for a great price!

Faults:

I just got it about 10 days, there are some things to be done:

- Antenna is broken off.

- The paint on one of the spoiler is a bit bad.

- A few lights in the dashboard don't work.

General Comments:

I killed my previous car (100NX 1991, entry date: Wednesday 24th of January, 2001), but now I've got a 100NX again! :)

This afternoon I drove a short stretch with the roof off (8 degrees C, sunny weather), it was lovely! This car cost me less than the previous one, and it has more options, and looks better! I am very happy!!!

1991 Nissan 100NX 1.6 petrol

Summary:

A really nice little sports car with targa roof for a very nice price

Faults:

The air recycling lever was jammed of course.

I broke one of the parcel shelf hinges, when I placed the new shelf for my stereo.

The car belts were worn out.

Biggest fault: I crashed it last November: total loss :(((((

General Comments:

Great car, I loved to drive with the roof down. Everybody was looking when I drove by. Just 1 month before the crash I had a great stereo system built in, with everything possible.

The only thing is the performance, it is quite good for a 1.6, but of course it still remains a 1.6. Too bad the 2-liter T-bar is so rare, but if anybody has one for sale! ;)

After the crash I started looking for a Toyota MR-2, because I wanted a little more power under the T-bar, but recently I decided to buy a 100NX again, and then trade it for an MR-2 in 2 years or so.

It's really a special car, you have to like the looks of it, but the handling and comfort is really superb. The steering, the seats, all very comfortable.

1992 Nissan 100NX GTi 2.0 litre 16v

Summary:

A fast good looker (with bigger wheels!!!!)

Faults:

Air circulation lever stuck.

Parcel shelf hinge broken.

Noisy window motors.

Door windows rattle when not fully open or closed.

General Comments:

The standard 14 inch alloy wheels don't look right on the car, they are just too small.

1993 Nissan 100NX SLX T-Bar 1.6 injection 16V twin cam

Faults:

Nothing yet.... I have owned the car for about two months. It's my first car and it is really great.

Even my air circulation switch hasn't been broken (yet).......

General Comments:

Very nice looking car (with the complete body kit). It handles very good and I love driving in it.

If the roof is off it's even more fun to drive.Real good fun car.

Why I don't buy another Nissan?

They don't make this kind of car anymore.... My next car will probably be faster and also a fun car. No Nissan available so it will be an Honda Integra R or a Subaru Impreza Turbo or something like that. In the meanwhile I'll enjoy driving this car for four or five years.

A Nissan 300ZX is a nice nissan that is fast.

Is a Nissan NX1600 the same as a 100NX with 1.6 lt.?

24th Jan 2001, 08:59

Yes, it is the same.

The 300ZX is awesome, especially the newer model WITH targa roof. Too bad the 200SX doesn't have a targa (at least as far as I know).

The Nissan NX1600 US model 1992, can anyone tell me the reliability on these?

I own a Nissan 100NX and it is a very reliable and fun to drive car. I live in Scotland and my 100NX is done up, I think its one of the nicest 100NX's in U.K.

1991 Nissan 100NX SLX 1.6 16V carb.

Faults:

Exhaust pipe broke 3 times in 6 months. After I had it replaced by a sports exhaust so it could breathe a little better I never had problems again. And of course the air flow control lever is stuck.

General Comments:

I love this car and if I could I would marry it. The previous owner mounted a complete body kit and had the engine tickled so now it runs like crazy. It does take a lot of maintenance but it is all preventive because I don't want it to breakdown on me.

1992 Nissan 100NX SLX 1.6i 16V twin cam

Faults:

Air circulation switch hung.

General Comments:

Very nice, easy to drive car, fast for a 1.6 engine.

Looks great, with and without the Targa roof. Almost nothing wrong with it.

When driving without the the Targa Roof, the car gets a little unstable.
