1990 Nissan Bluebird LX 2.0

Summary:

Very Nice

Faults:

In the short period I used the car for on the road, there went nothing wrong, but as you see I only drove it for about 2000 kilometres.

My plan is to use the car in autocross next year. Right now I'm preparing it for this.

General Comments:

Nice car putting far enough power out of it's two litre engine.

Very comfortable also.

1988 Nissan Bluebird LX 2.0

Summary:

By far the best car I have ever owned

Faults:

No special faults, other than the usual wear and tear. One annoying thing however; when the engine is warm, sometimes it does not sink below 2000 revs. It is like the choke is on, in the middle of the summer. The dealer replaced a little cylinder at the carburetor, but that did not help.

General Comments:

My first Japanese car ever. After approximatly 23 other cars like BMW's, Mercedes, Opel etc. etc. this is definitely the finest ever. I bought it intentionelly for a couple of months, but kept driving it for 5 years, with ever-growing enthusiasm.

Sadly It will leave me today, but I have traded it in for a Primera. I hope that the Primera is half as good as the Bluebird, if so, I will have a perfect car in future.

1987 Nissan Bluebird 2.0 petrol

Summary:

Comfortable, reliable car

Faults:

Exhaust problems twice, first a leak, then the entire thing threatened to come loose resulting in a fairly costly repair(~50 pounds) to get this corrected.

Other than this only some minor problems which are to be expected after driving 15000KM in 6 months with a 15 year old car, total maintenance cost around 200 pounds.

General Comments:

The car was built as a luxury car, which is still obvious even though it's 15 years old, despite the rather large engine performance isn't stunning and acceleration past 60mph is fairly slow for this size engine, top speed however is good.

Car is fairly comfortable, seats are nice, lots of room for driver/ passengers and a large boot.

All in all a well built car with just one serious drawback, fuul consumption is fairly high at 1 litre per 11 kilometers, this combined with it using petrol it prompted me to switch to a diesel operated car from the "B" segment.

I would like to begin by saying that I agree with everything said in this review.

I own one of these cars and just like mentioned in the review, it has a leaky exhaust, its slow off the mark, but has a good top speed and it is terrible on petrol.

Well done to the person who wrote this review, you hit the nail right on the head.

1989 Nissan Bluebird SLX 2.0

Faults:

Nothing special, exhaust replaced, and some other things.

General Comments:

Very nice car to drive, it's not very fast for a 2.0 engine.

The car is very nice to look at, it has that typical '80s look, not like all the cars that drive today with all the round forms in them. And it looks much better than the Primera too!!
