2006 Acura CSX Premium 2.0L

Summary:

Great concept, Poor execution

Faults:

Power steering failed after 2000 km.

Wipers intermittent feature does not work.

Rust started after only 3 years.

General Comments:

This car is a nice concept, but shows poor execution.

The electric power steering failed after only 2000 km. The unit had to be replaced under warranty.

When you turn the wipers on in intermittent mode, the time between wiper cycles varies dramatically, even if your speed is constant.

The black window trim behind the rear passenger windows rusted through after only 3 years. $460 for parts and installation. NOT covered under warranty.

Wow! I though I was the only one with rust on the rear window black trim... My car is a 2008, it's starting to rust from the inside of the black trim. The black trim is clean, intact, no chip nor scratches, in theory no bare metal. This sucks. Definitely no more Acura for me.

2006 Acura CSX Premium 1.7

Summary:

Would buy another Acura in a second

Faults:

Had a passenger seat air bag sensor replaced, and a squeak in the drivers seat. Both replaced by the dealer quickly and perfectly.

General Comments:

Great on gas, comfortable and quiet - an absolute pleasure to drive. Well appointed inside.

2006 Acura CSX Premium 2.0L

Summary:

Fantastic entry level sedan. Worth every penny

Faults:

Nothing

General Comments:

Car has been running smoothly ever since we picked her up in May of 2006.

We wanted to move up from our Honda Accord, but didn't want to stray far so the CSX was the perfect choice.

It was the best combination of fuel economy and size for our needs.

Plus, we loved the looks.

2008 Acura CSX base 2.0L gas

Summary:

In theory it should be a great car, but was not very well executed

Faults:

The cruise control occasionally shuts off when I depress the "set" button. Instead of setting the speed, the system shuts off.

Stitching in the passenger side leather seat is coming out.

General Comments:

Handling is better than I had anticipated.

Feels faster than only 155 hp, probably due to gearing.

Shifting is not very smooth.

Suspension is stiff and excellent, however, some people may find it too uncomfortable.

Driver's area is very cramped, and I'm only 5'7" and 120 lbs.

Seats are hands down the most uncomfortable I've ever sat in.

Steering wheel is nice and small.

I am 6 ft. and find the interior roomy enough and very comfortable, so I can't understand why a smaller person would find it cramped and uncomfortable.

Yea, I am 6 foot 2 and own the Civic, just the cheaper version. I had back issues in my Chrysler Sebring, now I feel like I'm in paradise. Very roomy, I would assume your seat is badly adjusted.

I'm six feet tall and 200 pounds, and I feel like the driver's seat is absolutely perfect.

2006 Acura CSX Premium 2.0L DOHC i-VTEC

Summary:

Great Entry Level Acura

Faults:

No problems yet.

General Comments:

Great car, sharp little mini-TSX.

- Kinda pricey compared to a Civic EX however adds HIDs, Leather, Navi (an option), and 6 Disc CD Changer with MP3.

- Fuel economy is good, uses regular fuel in comparison with premium with other Acuras.

- Noticed some issues with the interior, but should be addressed by the dealer.

- I'm awaiting the CSX-S since it will be Canada's version of the Civic Si Sedan.

They sound like great cars, but I don't understand why Honda doesn't import them to USA. If they can't do that then they should have an optional leather choice for the Civic.

I would get the Civic EX, but I really want to try out the paddle shifters. Any comments on them?

18th Jan 2013, 11:16

The paddle shifts are actually pretty solid. They shift quickly and respond well. I hate most Tiptronic trannys, as they have severe lag, rendering them useless
