1992 Acura Integra GS 1.8L DOHC

Summary:

Give me a 10 year old Integra over a brand new domestic any day!

Faults:

Radiator needed replacing, which was approximately a $350.00 cost.

Rear hatch has a rattle that cannot be found by the dealer.

Passenger and driver's windows whistle at high speeds in winter due to the design.

General Comments:

This car was purchase 10 years old with 150,000 kilometers on it. The vehicle runs amazingly well at all speeds. Hard cornering, acceleration, and stopping are all very easy for this car to handle. The ABS on the GS has saved me on icy roads a few times. It has a nice solid feel to it that just can't be compared to on even some brand new GM, Chrysler, and Ford products I have driven. Truly, a car ahead of it's time in terms of technology, power for the engine size, and style. I would definitely buy another.

1992 Acura Integra GS b18b

Summary:

Outstanding performance at a bargain price

Faults:

Absolutely NOTHING! For a 12 year old car, this thing is AMAZING!!

I have never before owned a Honda product, but I can assure you I will buy another.

General Comments:

This car is a serious sports car. Fast and nimble. It did take me a while to get used to the power-band. I was used to shifting my Toyota with a 22RE engine at around 4000 RPM, but this thing is just starting to come alive at 4000! From 4500 to 7000 RPM, this thing screams!

The interior is very comfortable, even for my 6 foot 2 inch, 225 pound frame. The only drawback is no center console or arm rest.

1992 Acura Integra GS 1.8 gasoline

Summary:

Symbol for reliability

Faults:

The distributor got bad at about 103K, it needed replacement.

The ABS light had just come on at 118K.

Leather seats got flaky at some areas.

General Comments:

This car is very reliable, I love it.

It drives very sporty, loaded.

This car does not complain, it is loyal for it's driver, even if he is too lazy to maintain it.

I recommend this car for long distance traveling, I had at least 4 trips with 3000Miles each, and 3 with 2000 Miles.

It was always stable on the road, giving excellent maneuver.

The trunk is expandable because the back seats can be folded, this will give you valuable space.

I own a 1992 Integra. It currently has 146,000 miles on it.

The car still drives like a brand new car. Last month the ABS light remained on while I was driving. Well my Brother is the areas Head Honda and Acura Tech. Anyway he added some fluid and the light went off. The following week I took it in and had all the brake fluids changed. The light has remained off and the car stops like a champ... I was considering trading it it for a Subaru Outback but after much research have decided to keep my Acura until it dies... I would recommend Acura to anyone looking for a Quality built vehicle...

1992 Acura Integra LS 1.8DOHC

Summary:

One of the best ever

Faults:

Driver side power Window became loose in first month (repaired under warranty)

Warped both front rotors in an extreme 70mph panic stop at 10000 (repaired under warranty)

Fuel Injectors replaced at 20000, probably due to an overfilled oil change job (also repaired under warranty)

Stuck rear brake caliper after being stored for a winter at 70000... was in Florida at the time (wanted $500 to replace from Pensecola shop) drove back to Wisconsin... took out the rotor too...

Distributor bearings disintegrated at 75000... this was an Acura recall item, so dealership gave me a new one for $80...

Radiator fan tends to run on after the car is cool... Honda dealership couldn't reproduce this.

Scheduled replacement of timing belt at 100,000.

Currently I have a leaky radiator (after the timing belt was replace)...

There is a beeping from the dash board... no clue why...

...and I have gone through a muffler at LEAST every 20000 miles.

General Comments:

This is simply one of the best cars ever made.

Its quick (though not exciting), solid, handles like a cat, has unbelievable brakes (that probably saved my life).

Tends to be kind of loud sucker (a lot of road noise though the suspension) particularly with the stock tires (Michelins, which lasted an amazing 79,000 miles by the way).

This car goes like crap on the snow, however... and has zero ground clearance.

Oil filter is just about inaccessible unless you are a freakishly strong 10 year old, or have amazingly long and flexible arms.

Seats could be more comfy for those long interstate trips...

Paint looks good after all these year, though the plastic bits faded during the Florida years...

My wife wants me to lose this car... and I just don't want to see it go...
