1994 Acura Integra LS 4 Door 1.8L
Summary:
Dependable, fun to drive car
Faults:
New battery at approximately 70,000 miles.
Cracked radiator at 90,000 miles.
Oil gasket leak which sprayed oil over engine at 95,000 miles.
Problem with computer that lead to severe loss of engine response, stalling, and rough idling. 100,000 miles.
Power antenna no longer goes up or down, rather makes loud noises when triggered. 95,000 miles.
Brakes seem to need replacing more and more often as car ages.
Severe leak in trunk's weather-stripping. 70,000 miles.
Rusting in rear of car where bumper meets quarter-panel over wheelwell. (This is a common problem, I know.)
Loud rattling of exhaust/heatshield when car at 2,900-3,500 RPM. (Again, this is common in Integras.)
Lately, car seems to be losing responsiveness, and engine has somewhat of a knock to it.
General Comments:
For a 1.8L Four-cylinder sedan, this car could really move when it was running well. The ride is a bit stiff, and the seats could be a little more comfortable.
I've always been impressed with the factory stereo system (cassette player), the bass is deep and rich.
Overall, this car has been the most reliable, and cheap to maintain, car we've owned. Other than the usual tires, brakes, tune-ups, etc. this has given very few problems. If you are ever looking for a good, reliable car, pick up an Acura, you won't be disappointed.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
