2009 Acura MDX 3.7
Summary:
Do yourself maintenance, go to reputable Acura dealer
Faults:
Alternator wasn't working.
Odometer's cluster lights up like a Christmas tree and stops running.
Bought a re-manufactured alternator with warranty, but it still failed. Alternator voltage or amps wasn't the right grade for the Acura or Honda Pilot... they share the same parts. Replace by some electrician... finally fixed.
And March 2021 got timing belt, water pump and seals replaced $850.00. High pressure hose leaked and was replaced. Cost another $$$.
After that got check engine light. Code shows po306; spark plugs or wires need to be replace on the number 6 cylinder. Will soon buy the parts and will post about this later.
General Comments:
Runs great, you just need to look for warning signs... always ask YouTube bloggers.
Fix it yourself kinda deal. Don't trust any mechanics. Had so many experiences with those situations; they replace your good parts and place in bad parts so you will think your MDX needs new parts.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

Good review.
"Bought a re-manufactured alternator with warranty, but it still failed."
Advisory: Having worked in the auto parts business for many moons, the quality of remanufactured parts is very "variable". Hard to discern who sells the good stuff, until after you buy ;)
Generally, the rebuilt units sold by the dealer are the better choice. But not always ;)
