1999 Buick Century Limited 3.1
Summary:
This is an AWESOME car!
Faults:
The only major problem was the transmission that I replaced at 215,000. I bought one at a local junk yard for $75.00, and had a tech I found on Craigslist install it! Total cost for this; $350.00!
The ABS as well as the traction control were out when I got it - never fixed it - never bothered me!
General Comments:
This car has been the best car I have ever owned, and I plan on buying another just like it! This car has the usual lifter noise of the 3.1 motor when you first start it - no worries! It's NORMAL from what I have seen (They will quiet down as the car warms up).
280,000 miles, and I never have to add oil between changes (every 4000 miles).
Bang for the buck, I would take this over any Japanese car maker any day of the week!
As an added bonus, it looks like a senior citizen's car (you can fly below the radar!) ;)
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

UPDATE:
I was driving 108 miles round trip just to work every day in this car. Stop and go traffic in the cities, with straight freeway on the way home. This car has around 315K on it currently. The AC is out and the front end makes A LOT of rattling noises! (My mechanic said the front end is worn out!) I am not sure whether or not I will fix the front end or not - hard to let the best car I have ever had go! Still don't need to add oil between changes! These 3.1 motors either last forever, or die really early it seems!
The intake gasket started leaking pretty bad at 290k, so I threw "Iron Tite" head gasket sealer in her and she has been running fine since! It will be a very sad day when she makes her final journey to the scrapyard!
