Nothing has gone wrong with this car since I bought it.

General Comments:

This is one of the best cars on the road it is a 1992 and all the power options work it starts up great the transmission runs like new the a/c blows ice cold, but it does shake a little when idle probably motor mounts overall I'm very happy with this car and I only bought it for $1,200.

Faults:

Harmonic balancer and wheel hub wore out.

Blower fan needs to be serviced, but it still has heat and AC.

General Comments:

I got this car as a gift! Cost $200.00 Cdn to get it on the road. I hope I can get.5Million km on it and have a birthday party for it.

1992 Buick LeSabre

Summary:

I will always miss this car

Faults:

The AC did not work.

The heater did not work.

The power windows got stuck several times during the life of the car.

The gas gage did not work.

General Comments:

Other than the minor defects my 92 Buick Le Saber was the best car ever. I have a lot of fond memories with that car and it served me well till the day I was hit... On that note the safety features worked very well.

Summary:

Generally A good car considering its age

Faults:

I have put 5 front wheel bearings on this car starting at about 94000 km.

ABS unit quit at approx. 150,000 km. ($1400 to replace.)

Front end parts seem to wear fairly fast, But for the most part are cheap to fix.

General Comments:

Ride and handling are good, but brakes are spongy.

Engine, transmission and body have held up very well with general maintenance.

Summary:

I love this car, It's very roomy and reliable!

Faults:

Tires

Brakes

Battery at 317,000Km

Rear windows have trouble going up (happens a lot)

General Comments:

This car has lots of room and power. It's very good on the highway and the dynaride suspension works really good. This car has been really reliable and still runs fine even at 744,000kms.

1992 Buick LeSabre Dynaride V6 Gas

The experience everyone should have

Faults:

The A.B.S. light on the dash came on when I first bought the car, and the brakes would lockup while driving. I didn't have to touch the brakes for them to lockup. Took it to the Buick dealer and was informed that a wheel sensor was faulty and needed to be replaced, but they could not be confident that the sensor was the only problem. The M.O.T.require a safety check before a car is sold, however the A.B.S. is not covered on the safty check. By the way, I was told by the service consultant at the dealership that it may cost me as much as $3000.00 to fix the brakes.

General Comments:

I love my Buick, and if I could afford it I would fix it in a heart beat. I am on disability and even $100.00 is a lot of $$. Is there anyway to disconnect the A.B.S. system so I can continue to drive my car without having to go bankrupt?

The ABS system has its own computer. You could disable it by pulling its fuse. Or, you could disconnect the ABS brake fluid circulator motor (not using the correct terminology here) which will leave no way for the brakes to actuate themselves. Your brakes will work just like normal brakes; you just will no longer have anti-lock. Just remember though, if you need to make a panic stop, stop on a slippery surface, etc, will have to pump the brakes, as you would do normally, in a non-antilock brake equipped car. The tires WILL be allowed to lock with the system disconnected.

By the way, the person who quoted you 3000.00 to fix those brakes was very disreputable. Even if they had to replace practically every brake system component on the car, it should not be 3000.00. Working on cars is not rocket science. I do not know who these people think they are. This insane pricing for everything has to stop. Sorry you had to deal with that nonsense.
