Faults:

Master Brake Cylinder at 60,000

Front brakes

Serpentine Belt at 65,000.

General Comments:

This is a well engineered car. Has been very reliable. I drive it reasonably easy most of the time. Plenty of power. Those who have had to replace a lot of parts are driving it like a race car and no car will hold up very long to that. Have had minimal problems because I drive easy - no head gaskets blown, etc!

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes

I too drive carefully with my 1998 Lesabre, however, the intake manifold failed recently resulting in water in the engine. This resulted in a blown starter and very costly repairs. I never had a problem with the car until this. It seems when something goes wrong, it goes very wrong.

My 1995 LeSabre Limited has been very reliable, 118,000 miles and no major problems. The standard wear out items, brake pads, etc. do not come up more often than usual. I bought it new and am still driving it. My wife won't get rid of her '91 Park Ave. with 140,000 miles and no major problems. The leather interior has held up very well. We have been very satisfied with Buicks.

1995 Buick LeSabre Custom 3.8

Summary:

It is not that good of a car

Faults:

I have had a lot of problems with leaks. I have had to replace plenum upper and lower intake manifold gasket's. The transmission pan gasket, oil pan gasket, transmission cooler lines, radiator and upper lower hoses and water pump. All leaking at around 110,000 miles. I have also had to replace wheel bearings and wheel cylinders. I have also had to replace Air compressor at a price of about $900.00 parts and labor.

It is a very expensive car to keep up. I should note to that I have replaced the radiator twice in six month's. I am currently trying trace a coolant leak that I myself or the dealership cannot seem to find.

General Comments:

I do not know what is in the future for this car if I keep it or not. I have to say that it is a cozy car and very expensive to maintain. I have to say that it is still cheaper than a car payment every month.

I have the same car and the problem with the coolant leak is the cheap clamps that the manufacturers put on. Take them off and replace them with screw clamps, and the leak will stop.

1995 Buick LeSabre Custom V6

Summary:

The second worst car I have ever owned

Faults:

Two of the power windows failed first and then the power door locks. The master brake cylinder had to be replaced at 30K and the car has had perpetual suspension squeaks. At 60K a recurring oil leak occurred and despite close monitoring an engine bearing went out at 63K requiring a rebuilt replacement engine. Minor annoying transmission leaks occur today.

General Comments:

The suspension is very soft and cornering is sometimes a concern.

Well, it is a luxury car, after all. It is supposed to have a soft suspension. You aren't meant to drive it hard into the corners. It's not a Camaro or Corvette and you shouldn't try to drive it like one.

As for the squeaks, if you are getting them from the front of the car, try this. At the tops of the shock towers are a pair of rubber caps, longish and rounded at both ends. Pry these off. You will see a nut and rubber bushing assembly under there. Sometimes you need to spray some silicone on the rubber bushing and the squeaking will go away. You may also have to adjust the tightness of the nut. The rubber bushing should not be squashed flat by the nut. If the rubber bushing shows signs of cracking or breaking apart, it is a good idea to replace it. I hope this helps resolve your noise issue.
