Really nothing has gone wrong. I just made it faster and nicer for myself. It's a great car, one of my favorites.
The seats are getting old.

Best buy I've ever made
The cruise control never worked, I never really tried to get it working though, probably a loose connection somewhere.
The leather drivers seat has began to wear.
The transmission slips a little bit when trying to get it into gear, only when cold, you have to shift it all the way into first, wait for it to shift into gear, put it in drive, and go. I'm assuming all it needs is a flushing and filter.
This car has more than enough power for anything you could ever want.
AMAZING gas mileage. The worst highway mileage I've ever gotten is 24. But keep it at 100km/hr (65mi/hr) and you will easily be in the mid 30's (36).
Roomy back seat and huge trunk.
Extremely reliable, the car has been in the family since new. Take care of it - and it will take care of you.

GM does it again..
Needed a 'Italian' tune up with some premium gas and a couple bottles of fuel injector cleaners.
Was dripping a little oil, not a lot though, but 10w-30 solved the problem LOL.
Buicks are the finest American cars ever built; super reliable and powerful, and better than all this Japanese crap and Chrysler products.
They don't burn oil, so we save money LOL.
I highly recommend this car to anyone. Don't think twice to buy one. I have had 7; all Centurys and Regals, and could not imagine driving anything else.

If it has the 3800 V6, you should be good to go.
Please take that car to a reliable mechanic to check it out, and get it on a lift to check for any body/frame damage underneath. It might cost 80.00 for it, but is well worth it. Taking a chance on a older car can be dangerous... not only for your pocket book, but your life and anyone else in the car.
Also please read your Consumer Reports Annual Auto Issue that comes out every year in April. It has a lot of great vehicles under $4,000... from Chevys to Toyotas... whatever suits your needs.
Take it to a mechanic for inspection, at your cost (about $100). Then you will know if it needs a fix.
There is more to a car than an engine.

There was an oil leak. I fixed it myself (somewhat) by changing a few gaskets, and that got most of it. 145,000 miles.
Seats wore down pretty fast.
Serpentine belt slipped while I was driving and I lost power steering and braking.
I was getting 12 mpg at the end of its life! Yes 12!! And I drove very cautiously to try to improve mileage.
Rear struts went out, then the rear spring broke, and a USED spring would cost around $600, so about 1200 to fix it, I said screw it and sold the thing.
The motor was unbelievably reliable. I have a friend with the EXACT same model with 295,000 miles and it runs like a champ. Never replaced the transition either.
Mine took a beating, I hit a deer the day I got it, then I went through an automatic car wash, and it ripped my side mirrors off! But the thing has some awesome power and handles like an awesome boat. It was built like you would expect a GM to be built like.

I am buying a 1995 Buick Regal. I need something reliable. I hope this car will do the job. It has 145,000 on it. I am sort of nervous to buy such an old car, but it's all I can afford.
Suggestions? Comments?
Is there anything I should look for to get fixed before I complete the purchase?
