2002 Buick Rendezvous CXL

Summary:

This car is a complete lemon

Faults:

Oil pan gasket replaced at 90000.

Ball joints at 90000.

A/C recharged at 90000.

Speed sensor on both front tires; replaced one at 93000, second one done at 104000.

Speed senor hub on right side done at 93000.

Brakes done 94000.

Rotors resurfaced twice; once at 89000, and again at 94000.

Four all wheel alignments, one at 89000, second at 92000, third at 96000, and fourth at 103900.

Back springs replaced at 103900.

Passenger window does not work correctly.

Drain holes for the sun roof do not drain properly, so water leaks in from the roof and through the on-star buttons and speaker.

Head lights flicker all the time, and when it's cold out, they completely turn off for a few second, and the battery light comes on, and as we speak, it is in the shop, changing the water pump. I'm seriously hoping it's only that and nothing else; this car is costing me more than the loan I took out on it.

I know there are more things that I have replaced, but cannot think of them, because of all of the paper work that states it is in the glove box.

If there is a class action suit, count me in.

General Comments:

Looks nice inside and out, but it's what happens under the hood and under the car that makes this car a lemon.

2002 Buick Rendezvous CXL V6

Summary:

Did GM ask "can we take everything that is wrong on our other cars and put it into one SUV?"

Faults:

My 2002 Buick Rendezvous was great, for about 2 months.

The first thing that went wrong was the steering system. It had to be replaced with less than 1,000 miles on it.

Since then, I have had to replace all four CV half shafts, twice, the A/C system three times, the engine has been rebuilt five, yes five times, and it sounds like it needs it again.

The gas tank has been replaced, all three CPU’s failed at once, ON Star died within the first year, the power steering pump failed twice, the rear differential locked up, and the all-wheel drive goes in and out.

Not to mention that this thing overheats in the middle of winter.

In the last 60 days, I have had the both front bearing assembles replaced, transfer case, the steering system (yes, again), the instrument cluster and the A/C control assembly.

I also had some bulbs burn out in the button accessory bank (below the A/C control), so I went to the dealer, and I was informed that they do not carry the bulbs, only the entire switch bank, for $479.86. I asked if a bottle of lube came with that. He didn’t think that was funny, so I left and went to a junk yard and found one for $20.00.

The chrome wheel hubs are plastic, and if you don’t put them on just right, the clip breaks, and there will forever be a clicking sound as you drive down the road. At $115.00 each, I make sure that the service techs are very careful.

Also these are infamous for the all-wheel drive and anti-lock brakes failing at the same time; this is usually due to corrosion on the sensors in the front wheel bearing assemblies.

My extended warranty is now up, and so is my patience. The only Rendezvous that happens in this vehicle is the one between the dealership, the car rental place and me. Shame on GM. Bad auto maker, BAD!

2002 Buick Rendezvous CXL 3.4L

Summary:

This vehicle is junk

Faults:

Gasket, ball joints, BCM, brakes, rotors.

General Comments:

This vehicle is kind of junk,

All the time, some problems come, and it's even hard for the dealer to diagnose.

I had issues with the ABS light, transmission, noise in the back wheels while turning, stupid parking lights come on and I'm not stopped, without any reason.

Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No
