1990 Cadillac DeVille 4.5 V8

Summary:

Smooth

Faults:

Car was already old, but kept in good condition. Only 90000 miles for a 17 year old car was pretty good.

Since I've owned it, I have replaced struts, cat conv thru tailpipe, alternator, pulley, brake and fuel lines, and the starter. All seemed OK since the car was old.

At 130,000 the car started running rough, but the problem could not be diagnosed.

General Comments:

The DeVille really shines on the highway with its leather sofa like 60/40 bench, air ride, low engine noise, and 26 mpg.

1990 Cadillac DeVille 4.5

Summary:

BEST Vehicle besides a Bentley

Faults:

Just replaced the water pump.

Alternator; including belt.

General Comments:

Cadillacs are probably the best vehicles to own.

If you go into the history of Cadillac, they built tanks in the 1940's.

Dealerships know how to work on the vehicles with no problems. In my opinion due to the high standards Cadillac holds up to.

The older Cadillacs are the better they seem to be.

Made of steel with great power.

My 1988 Eldorado is baby blue with blue leather interior, all electronic; including a moon roof. This cad gets up and goes faster than my 1990 Coupe Deville. In the long run the Coupe is faster once it's off the line. They both have the 4.5L engine.

1990 Coupe Deville is Cadillacs awesome white, with red leather interior and everything is electronic.

I have not had any serious mechanical problems with my cads as I have had problems with the Mercury (Ford), Chevy (including a 2007 Trail Blazer).

Regular wear and tear from the years.

Both my vehicles are in top condition.

I know I want a luxury car that captures the experience of piloting a WWII-era tank.

1990 Cadillac DeVille Coupe V8

Summary:

I actually liked this car at first, but now I've had it a while, I think it's time for a new one

Faults:

I have had my Cadillac Coupe De Ville for about 7 months now, and at first the car was OK. To start off with, the windows were stuck down, the upholstery on the seats is extremely worn out, and the radio doesn't work if it rains. The battery that came with the car was the original, and it barely worked. I was really upset to find out that the ashtray isn't removable, and the middle console that moves to allow someone to sit in the middle, well it wobbles all around, and is about to come off. And most recently (yesterday as a matter of fact) the tensioner pulley, and AC pulley gave out, now my car is stuck at my school, and I have to have it towed.

General Comments:

I will never own another one if they are all like this.

You're right, it's time to make a big jump up in luxury and prestige= =maybe a '92 or even a '93!

Ha ha, I have an 88 Seville. Got it my Junior year, have had it for 5 years and had very few problems. Too bad for you.

I'm sorry, but your review is very poor. About one of your complaints is legit. And that's your radio complaint. The car is 15 years old. You complain about it like these things are happening to a brand new car. After 15 years window motors will wear out. Seats will wear from people sitting in them for 15 years. You complain about a 15 year old battery? maybe it was time for a new one 8 years ago. Why does an ashtray need to come out? And again, the car is 15 years old. That middle console isn't going to be secure as it was 15 years ago. And for the last time, 15 years old, pulleys wear out too. Most cars are dead after 15 years. About one legit complaint. Poor review, very poor.

I own an 88 cadillac coupe deville and it has been a very nice car with few problems.

This 1989 coupe deville is one of the best cars I've owned!! I bought it 5 years old with 80,000 miles on it and just donated it to a needy family who really is happy with it! it now has over 140,000 miles on it. the rust it is the only thing I can complain about, which started creaping in a few years ago. my wife and son enjoyed the car all the years we had it.

A luxury car I can afford. 300 bucks was all. then brakes, new windshield, replaced original muffler, alignment. One window needs repair to open or won't close, needs paint job, needs rust protection/repairs soon. so far 2 grand into that baby. New battery, its had water pump, rear shocks, alternator replaced. Its worth the love. surprisingly good on gas. First year FM radio came out. It rocks. 344,000 kilometers. I'll miss her when she goes. I love that car to death.
