1994 Cadillac DeVille Concours 4.6 liter North Star V8
Summary:
High maintenance beauty that commands attention
Faults:
CD changer stopped working.
Check ride control indicator would intermittently go on/off.
Service engine soon indicator would intermittently go on/off.
Engine would occasionally stall.
Transmission leak.
The wooden trim on the dashboard and the door panels cracked.
Driver's window quit working.
Leather seats began to rip/crack.
General Comments:
Comfortable enough to be driven across country.
I really enjoyed the sound of the factory Bose sound system, but unfortunately the CD quit working.
I drove this car from San Francisco to Reno without problem. Upon return to San Francisco the service engine soon indicator would come and go.
I had the car repainted at a body shop because the paint had faded.
When I purchased the vehicle, some of the exterior trim pieces were missing so I had the body shop order the pieces. I received a phone call from the body shop the next day saying "the parts are not cheap". I OK'd the order and got the exterior looking top notch again.
Then the car began stalling without warning at low speeds.
Next I noticed a puddle under the vehicle, so I had a mechanic look at it. My coworkers were confident it just needed some gaskets to stop the oil leak. Nope. Try a transmission replacement.
The driver's window refused to roll down more than a few inches, and if I tried, a loud ticking sound could be heard.
I received many compliments on its beauty, and when my boss made me an offer on it, I sold it without hesitation.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Don't Know

Yes, it is a wonder why nice features like cornering lamps and bench seats are no longer available on modern cars. While they may be old-fashioned, they are still very nice features and I think sorely missed. I won't even mention the pillow soft ride compared to modern cars. Oh how far we have fallen in 20 short years.
