2000 Cadillac Seville SLS V8
Summary:
Horrible
Faults:
Everything is wrong with the car.
The car shuts off all the time.
I keep dropping money into it, and it still keeps breaking down.
New tires.
Catalytic converter - 2 in 1 week.
Coil packs.
Brakes that still slide.
Wiring.
Too many things to go over them all.
Everything you can think of it has been fixed. At least 800 to 1500.
The gas gauge is broken.
Auto shops cheat you constantly, and don't fix the problem.
Sensors always break.
Air modulator.
General Comments:
The car is comfortable, but it does not matter when it breaks down all the time after you have had it fixed over and over, and it is always something else.
I am tired of this big piece of crap taking all my money, and people cheating me for money to fix what no one seems to be able to fix.
The engine is nice and the car moves quick, but it takes 15 minutes to heat up or else it won't drive.
It takes up a lot of gas, but I don't mind that.
It takes up a lot of oil. It just disappears. No stains on the ground. It sounds like it is going to blow up, but no one seems to find anything.
I take care of this car, and it does not seem to matter.
You will love this car, if you like taking money and burning it for nothing.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I own a Cadillac Seville STS, and it really is the money pit everyone speaks of. I will strike up a conversation with someone, only to find they have owned one previously, only to get rid of it as soon as possible. It does not matter how much money you put into it; as soon as one problem is fixed, there is another one right around the corner. If you want a car with lower repair costs, this is not the car for you.
Just in the last 10 months I have put over $4000 in this car - a new stabilizer bar, inner and outer tie rod ends, new front bearings, new radiator and hoses, new brake pads, rotors and tires, which is normal maintenance of course.
The transmission began slipping recently, and was found to be 5 quarts low on tranny fluid. Now the power steering fluid is leaking and the car is squealing. The tabs on the headlights break, I have had to replace them twice, and those are not cheap. If you find a decent price on a used one, you will find it was once broken and repaired, hence why the price is decent.
There have been many other issues too numerous to remember. It's a beautiful car and a good ride, but truly is a MONEY PIT!
