Faults:

One frost plug seeped coolant.

The cassette player didn't work.

General Comments:

I bought this car at an auction for $300. It was full of dog hair and a lot of the interior trim pieces were broken. I spent a few day cleaning it and gluing all the bits back together, and was it ever worth it!

This car always started right up, was comfortable to drive (the driver seat even tilts back and forth), was smooth on the highway, and cruised happily at 120 km/h.

I could get about 700km out of a full tank, and the transmission shrugged of my best power shifts without so much as a missed gear.

I just sold it for $1000, so I could put my Mustang back on the road. What was I thinking? If you can find one with the 2.0 push rod motor, take it! They are current enough in styling that when you pull into someone's driveway, it still looks like a late model ride. No one has to know that you got it cheap!

Faults:

My transmission is slipping (due to the Torque Converter Celeniod). It just started about 3 months ago and seems to be getting worse.

My heater core just went.

My struts need replacing as they are now bouncing.

My ball joints need replacing. They are now worn.

My oxygen sensor seems to be not working all of the time now.

I had to change my oil sensor last year.

I have had to replace the front brake shoes every year.

The 2.8L engine is quick, but known to have bad head gaskets and cracked heads. Spark plugs tend to not want to come out due to heat and expansion.

General Comments:

I love my Beretta, but I have to say that I have never had a car that didn't really have anything wrong with it one day and the next BANG, everything starts to go.

I have had regular maintenance on my car, I don't know what happened.

This is a very quick car, even with the 2.8L in it. It sure is a head turner, especially with a girl driving it and racing (cruising) on Sunday nights.

Faults:

There has only been one problem with this car since I bought it. I had to replace the ECM (computer) in it. I'm not sure what happened to it, but it wasn't expensive. Other than tires and oil changes I haven't had to do a thing to the car.

The interior of the car is OK. Common Beretta problems tho. The dash is starting to warp up by the defroster.

The drivers side door panel is also warping from the sun.

But those are just minor imperfections.

General Comments:

This has been a great first car for me. I love having this car. I bought it over a year ago and it only had 30,057 miles on it. I'm not sure why it was so low (Carfax certified) but its great. I get so many compliments on it. I would recommend anyone to buy a Beretta, because it will be worth it!

Faults:

The ignition computer was replaced at 167,000 km.

General Comments:

I haven't had this car for very long, but it's a lot of fun to drive.

Good acceleration and plenty of horsepower for long hills. The car handles great even if you're going way too fast. Always predictable. Will slide way before it ever tried to roll.

I've averaged somewhere between 30 and 35 mpg.

Interior seems a bit cramped, and some things a little awkward to get at. Serious lack of a cup holder.

The digital dash has a lot of fun features to play with, such as being able to switch the entire system from metric to imperial at a push of a button. Dash is a little hard to read on bright days, but is great at night.

The car has an absolute lack of rust, which really impressed me for a car this old. I've looked at other Beretta's since we've owned this one and it seems to be a common trait.

Seats are three way adjustable buckets, gear shift on the floor. Almost anyone can find a comfortable position, although it helps to be in good shape for getting in and out of the car.
