1990 Chevrolet Beretta GT V6
Summary:
Looks good sitting in your driveway when its not running..
Faults:
Where should I start? Everything that COULD have gone wrong with this car WENT wrong with this car.
Replaced alternator.
Replaced water pump.
Replaced fuel pump.
Had transmission rebuilt (at 60K miles)
Had ignition replaced (when you turned the key off and PULLED IT OUT, the engine kept running)
Had new exhaust system put on.
Paint started to come off... first it was just the clear coat, then within 6 months it was flaking off in chunks down to the METAL!
Started leaking oil just before I got rid of it.
As I pulled into the dealer to trade it in on my brand new Cavalier, the steering column started smoking.
General Comments:
This was one sharp looking car. I wanted a Beretta FOREVER! I loved the sporty way it looked, the way the door handles were sideways, the little spoiler on the back and the fat back end. I had this car for only a year before it started falling apart. Having the transmission rebuilt cost $1100 alone. I just couldn't afford pumping the money into it anymore. I MUST say however... that I found out later on that this car was used for MAIL DELIVERY in a rural part of the county... so that probably accounts for the transmission trouble. Looked good while it was sitting in my driveway though!

I love the GTZ. I bought it for $600 and I haven't put a penny into it, and I have raced all of 3 cars and beat them all with no problem - an Eagle Talon, n Acura RSX, and a honda civic, which I practically blew the doors off.
