1991 Chevrolet Beretta GT 3.1L V6

Summary:

A+ very good car, should be put back in the line up

Faults:

I can’t say there was very much that went wrong on the car. Mostly just battery, brakes, tires, and so on.

I did have to put a new clutch in it, but it did have over 300,000 km on it.

It still runs like new, and doesn’t burn any oil.

I would go anywhere in this car. I actually just got back from Calgary in it. And I live in Newfoundland. That was a 3 day drive, day and night.

My Beretta is a 1991 and it almost looks as good as the day it was on the showroom floor.

General Comments:

For the type of car it is, I think the Beretta’s are very under rated. For the cost of buying one, they're quite fast. For its class there is not much that would keep up with this car. Including the V6 Camaro.

The car doesn’t handle the best though. It needs a little upgrading. I put a lower tire on it, and lowering springs on mine, and it made a very big difference.

1991 Chevrolet Beretta 3.1

Summary:

Best car I have ever owned, and probably the best I will ever own

Faults:

Oil gauge sensor at 3000 miles; covered under warranty.

New brakes and tires, which are regular maintenance.

General Comments:

This car was snappy and easy to handle.

Very reliable. Haven't owned a car since that could match that one for reliability.

Also a great looking car.

1991 Chevrolet Beretta GT 3.1 V6

Summary:

The best car I've ever owned

Faults:

Everything. Bought it cheap as a salvage car. Replaced most of the interior. All the shocks and struts. Exhaust. Replaced the motor after a turbo experiment. Computer. Every sensor. This was over the 3 years I ownd this car. All the parts were cheap. The only major problem was the fact that an alternator would only last about six months. $25 dollars and 15 minutes later she ran just fine.

General Comments:

I loved this car. I could literally beat it up and it would still start the next day. I modified this car from the brakes to the interior. Dual piston front and rear struts/shocks. 2 inch drop springs. Body kit from a Z-26 model. Hyper-Tech Chip. I even had the computer sent off and redone. Roller everything inside the motor. No A/c. It came stock with 165 hp. I dynoed mine at the at 240hp. I beat a modified mustang and ate civics for lunch. I love cars and anyone could achieve the same results if they spent as much time tinkering with their car. It has been the most reliable and inexpensive car to maintain that I have ever owned. It was my second and id buy another one. This is the sad part it now resides in a junk yard. I was hit in the side by an escort going 45mph and I was sitting still. I could have driven it home, but the local police wouldn't let me. I was fine. The escort wasn't going anywhere after words.

1991 Chevrolet Beretta V6

Summary:

The most reliable car I have ever heard of

Faults:

Seats wore after 10 years.

Water leak through firewall after 10 years.

Gas cap rusted off after 13 years.

General Comments:

The most reliable car I have ever heard of.

Cars starts first time every time.

This car is 14 years old and still has good acceleration.

It is really starting to show it's age after 14 years of driving and being kept outside, but a really good car overall.

1988 Beretta no major problems and it has 246,000 miles on original engine and transmission.

1991 Chevrolet Beretta GTZ 3.1 V6

Summary:

Of the 14 cars I've owned... it's the best by far

Faults:

Ignition coil - 2x.

Brakes - 4x.

TCC solenoid.

Shocks.

Blower motor.

Annoying water leakage problem at the front drivers side firewall. half a tube of caulking to seal the joint took care of that.

General Comments:

Car handles great.

Acceleration was wonderful in it's day, but is not what you'd consider fast by today's standard.

Easy and cheap to fix.
