1995 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4.3 Liter V6
Summary:
Despite the problems with this car, it has been a great vehicle to own and drive
Faults:
EGR(Exhaust Gas Recirculation) Valve has been replaced 3 times, maybe once more once I find out what is wrong this time.
Fuel Injection System has been worked on at least 5 times.
I have had numerous alignments performed.
Transmission failed at about 85,000; the way to prevent this is to have your transmission flushed about every 50,000 miles. The shifting mechanism gets messed up from transmission fluid becoming dirty and can accidentally throw the transmission into reverse, which causes the reverse gear to shatter into pieces.
General Comments:
This car is a great all-purpose vehicle with typical problems experienced when you purchase the first year of a new body style car.
Chevrolet dealerships have been helpful and friendly every time when fixing vehicle. Chevrolet knows about the Fuel Injection and EGR Valve problems. They offer warranties on the parts after the first time they are fixed by the dealership (at least mine did).
The 4.3 Liter V6 is very powerful, only problem is the gas mileage, but it varies greatly depending on how you drive it.
I installed a Dynomax Cat-Back exhaust on my Blazer from Summit Racing, this helped with gas mileage and acceleration response.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? Yes
