Faults:

Living in the New York Metro Area, I only get to take the car out once in awhile. The car has been in several accidents. The engine was having problems, the exhaust pipe had to be changed due to a hole in it. (I drove it over a curb and scratched it.)

Right now, the passenger door does not work from outside. This was a result of being hit by another vehicle. No one was hurt inside my car however, the fact that I cannot open from outside is now what I considered an added security feature living in the New York city area.

General Comments:

This truck amazes me. I hardly take care of this truck, and it always seems to start up. Every time I think it is going to die on me. It always starts up fine.

I have used it like a tank, mowing through shopping carts in parking lots in malls and super markets as well as JFK.

I use the 190HP to my advantage during parking in NYC. For those of you familiar with parking in the NYC area. You will find that many people are inconsiderate when they park. They either box you in, or take up spaces that belongs to two or three cars with just one mis-parked car. I use my blazer as a bulldozer in those situation.

Works great! I feel like I can drive this car forever.

Unfortuantely, my wife is making me get rid of it.

Blazer is not for every one. It does have a high cost of maintainese. It is a certain breed of men who drive chevy trucks or suv.

Faults:

My EGR Valve and O2 sensors had to be replaced at 85,000 miles.

Rear passenger door and rear hatch unlock when turning around a corner. This could be a real safety hazard!

General Comments:

Not very happy with having emission problems already with current mileage.

Faults:

This Blazer has become my new best friend. I feel safe and secure in this sport utility vehicle.

The only things I have replaced on it so far have been basic wear and tear. The Catalytic converter was replace right before I purchased it, along the oxygen sensor. After I owned it awhile, I heard a knocking sound when the engine was coming from a lower RPM to idle. I found that the inner walls of the muffler had rusted out and were knocking against the inside. The tailpipe had rusted through like swiss cheese. But I consider this simply wear. It did have a very high mileage when purchased, after all.

Finally, I have replaced the brakes, which will always happen with any vehicle.

Over all, the blazer is a fairly dependable vehicle and I know for sure my next vehicle will be another Chevy Blazer.

General Comments:

This vehicle handles as well as any truck could. The engine, with the 180,000 miles on it, still purrs like a kitten.

However the gas mileage is very low. And any parts one would need to purchase are somewhat expensive. The bigger the vehicle, the bigger the price of parts, gas, etc. I would not recommend this sport utility vehicle if one is on a tight budget.

Faults:

The only thing that really has gone bad on my balzer is the water pump at 100,00 miles and the brakes go pretty quick. Tune-Up and something to do with the EGR valve gettin dirty had to clean twice $50 and replaced once $75. The main belt had to be replaced $15.00 but other than that it has been a great truck and it driven everywhere. No rust.

Has tires put on 111,000 $300.00.
