1999 Chevrolet Blazer LS 4.3
Summary:
Lowest Quality imaginable
Faults:
Most notably the wheel bearings went after 85,000 miles on both sides costing upwards of a grand to fix when you factor in that the The ball joints went at almost the same time as well.
The usual broken seat handle and rear wiper that never works.
The brand new wheel bearing that I just replaced with a genuine GM product, decided to go again after about a year and 20,000 miles. (Must be that extra special batch)
General Comments:
It looks like everybody is catching on now because when I went to sell the vehicle I could not get any calls on it after advertising for 10 months. I let a 5 year old Blazer in great condition go for $4,000 because that's all anybody will pay for the rolling junk piles. They seem to be approaching the depreciation value of the Lincolns, you know the cars you pay 40k for, then 3 years later their worth $7k?. That's what GM's reduced this vehicle to.
Would you buy another car from this manufacturer? No

I'm in shock, you just described my car... the passenger seat recline handle, the alternator, the hood release and the bearings. Seems too much to think just coincidence.
Can you enlighten me on replacing the bearings myself. I've read so many things, some are not able to be repacked, some are...
Just looking for a definitive yes or no I can do it and if you know where I can find out HOW to do it. Hate to spend $400+ after just replacing alternator and rear end 2 weeks ago.
