2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Summary:

Pretty darn good!

Faults:

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer and so far it has been great. There have been a few problems, but I had a really good mechanic and I thought is some of you are still reading these posts maybe I can help I have had a lot of the same problems.

The car was shaking very bad at idle and I had to replace the fuel gauge and pump. kind of expensive 300-500. We tried the gauge first then the pump.

The door was falling off and the pins were worn. The pin and bushing were about 20.00 and a guy at work put them on in ten minutes.

The car would not start all the time and I would have to wait 5 to 20 minutes to get it going again. I replace the key thing in the steering column (cannot remember the exact name) not expensive about 100.00.

The check engine light has been on for a year and a half. I had the catalytic converter replaced 200.00 and it went off and the weird noise under the car has stopped (for now?? just replace it a week ago)

The water behind the dash I was told was the ac hose being pinched it has not started leaking inside the car so I ignore it. Although someone did just hit the front fender there and the water drained. But I did hear it coming back a little this week.

The alternator went out this week the light on the dash light up like a Christmas tree and then they were really dim. with the tow it cost 300.

I think the transmission is going out now I am not sure it is shifting really hard, but I will need to check it.

I just made the last payment on the car and considering it has 133000 miles I figure it is pretty good most of these problems happened with in the last 12 months.

I have noticed a problems with by brakes, everyone has said the rotors are bad, but when I have them checked they are find. I will check the housing someone else posted on here. Thank you for your help.

2000 Chevrolet Blazer

Summary:

We got ripped off by GM

Faults:

Hubs both sides, at least 6 replacements, fuel pump, brakes every 10 to 12 thousand miles, window motors, driver and passenger side.

Rear window squirter stopped at 20000 miles. Rear window wiper stopped and gets stuck right in the middle of the rear glass.

Upper and lower ball joints; can't count any more, every steering related part at least 4 times, like tie rod ends, idler arm 5 times.

I won't buy any more GM products again. I like Toyota. My wife has a Corolla; she swears by it.

There is also something weird about the AC; after running a while it doesn't blow out air, and I can still hear a fan is working..

Total spent on car and repairs: 6172

Total spent on repairs alone: 672 (In a month and a half!)

Not to mention 14 MPG!

General Comments:

I bought my car about a month and a half ago, I searched for the best price on a used Blazer with the lowest miles. I found one going for 5,500 with 102900 on it. I thought I had found a good deal; it drove pretty good when I first drove it, and I knew there might be some things that would need to be done to the vehicle before I bought it, but I thought once things were fixed, then I wouldn't have to worry about it because I baby my vehicles.

So I traded in my lil old 97 Toyota Tercel (I miss it dearly!). I ended up paying with the trade in a total of 4,600. I loved the SUV feeling, I loved the way it drove, I loved the way it looked and how I looked driving it! But with love comes heart ache...

Maybe the worst investment in my history. It's like the smokiest hot dame that you ever saw and fell in love with, stole all your money and left you for some CEO of Chevy... #@$&*!
