Faults:

O2 sensor went bad with only 65 miles on it. 2 days after I bought it brand new off the showroom floor.

2 weeks after I brought it home I noticed that it was sitting crooked. The torsion bars were not adjusted correctly from the factory.

Transfer case developed a leak at 22,000 miles. Seals had to be replaced.

Hazard light switch stopped working.

On-Star unit had to be replaced.

Oil cooler lines had to be replaced at 25,000 and 45,000 miles.

Rear tail light had to be replaced because it kept filling up with water.

Hood hinges had to be fixed because they made banging noises while driving.

Radiator went at 39,000 miles.

GPS sensor for On-Star had to be replaced.

It leaks on the passenger side when it rains, but no one can figure out why.

Distributor cap went bad at 19,000 miles.

General Comments:

It rides pretty good for 4 wheel drive SUV.

The brake pads last a long time. With over 46,000 miles on it the original pads still look good.

The gas mileage is pretty poor for a 6 cylinder.

The 4 Wheel drive system works very well.

Faults:

At 97,000 miles I just had the front bearings and hubs replaced on this 2 wheel drive Chevy Blazer. I had taken the car in for an oil change, 2 new tires, and an inspection required by the state as I just moved to North Carolina. Man, did I end up spending more than I'd expected. The mechanic called me to tell me the hubs and bearings were shot.

I found this site when I was searching around to find if my problems are anything unique and if I should be concerned that the mechanic was running a scam. Based on the similar experiences of others... sounds like the problem is clearly with the vehicle.

Hopefully I won't have the transmission & other problems many have had... need to continue driving this car atleast another year to justify the money I spent this week.

General Comments:

It has run well for years.

Dependable.

Gas Gauge hasn't worked for years.

Faults:

Cracked intake manifold...alternator...battery...and now I get this constant sound of my blinker when its not on. The blinker thing is being looked at now.

General Comments:

Other than those problems, its fine. Wish GM wouldn't make their parts out of cheap plastic or whatever material seems to break.

Faults:

Like many of you, I have had to replace MANY parts on this vehicle.

First, I had a radiator leak and needed a new alternator at 50,000 miles that needed replaced. Then at 69,000 miles, it needed a new heater core, head gasket, floater for the gas tank (it sunk) and a new air conditioner condenser. It also got a new set of tires. At 84,000 it needed a new left wheel hub. At 102,000 it needed the right wheel hub, a new pitman/idler arm, gear box, power steering pump and alternator. At 114,000 miles, the emergency brake went out and they are saying that I need more work to the front end...again.

I love the look of the car inside and out. I cannot stand the parts they used when it was manufactured. It's a great car if you have money to put into it once it hits 50,000 miles. After that expect to be with out it every three to six months for service. That's how often something seems to go wrong with them.

Next time I buy a vehicle, I am buying a HONDA!!!

Faults:

At 100,000 miles, ball joints went bad!!!

Then at 120,00 miles, some work was done on 4x4 system.

And now at 150,000 miles, the fuel pump needs to be replaced... BUT STILL RUNNING!!!

General Comments:

I love this SUV!!! It just keeps going and going and going. We have now had it for about 5 years. Radio system is great! We go 4WHEELIN through all sorts of stuff and never yet has it left us sit.. Just a few here and there fix ups, but that's about it.. If I had to, I would buy a Blazer again!!!I LOVE IT!!!
