1967 Chevrolet C10 283
Summary:
Forty six years of good memories and still going strong
Faults:
This has been an extremely reliable truck and has never actually broken down.
The fuel pump went out once, but I managed to limp to my Father's house, installed a new fuel pump and all was well.
I have changed out a couple of master cylinders and a water pump or two over the years.
I might have replaced the alternator.
I have relined the front brakes several times, but the rear brakes only twice.
The carburetor has required rebuilding several times, and I recently replaced the accelerator pump twice before finding a quality unit.
After 46 years I no longer drive it on a regular basis, but use a 1996 and 1997 as my regular drivers
General Comments:
There is a lot of difference between the newer trucks and the older C10. Its styling was always pleasant to my taste. I have always maintained it well and even changed out the majority of trim pieces over the years. My kids have enjoyed it, and most have driven it if for no other reason than to experience the column shift. Lots of memories were made in that old truck.
